Before I begin my first-ever blog post, I want to thank you so much for landing on my website and taking the time to read what I have to say. If like me, you are dealing with the challenges of a chronic autoimmune condition, please know that my website, my book and all my posts are products of my own health journey. I share them with you so that perhaps your journey will be a bit less bumpy than mine has been, and you can learn positive ways to deal with your food sensitivities.
That said, I hereby promise NEVER to over-promise! When I was diagnosed with Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis over ten years ago and told by my doctor that I might benefit from eliminating certain foods from my diet, I searched the internet for books, websites and any kind of resource out there that could help me figure out a sustainable path forward. What I found fell into two categories: medical and scientific texts that offered little help or hope, and websites and books by authors who promised to cure me if I followed their diet and supplement protocols (none of which appeared to be backed up by any science at all). While I am neither a doctor nor a scientist, I know enough to know that chronic autoimmune conditions cannot be “cured.” But I’ve experimented enough to know that if you follow the right food elimination protocols, you can perhaps reduce your symptoms and have more days when you feel better.
My book, my website and my blog posts are all about suggestions, not promises. If you’ve been diagnosed with an autoimmune condition and told you might be able to reduce inflammation and fatigue by eliminating foods like gluten, dairy or soy, start by purchasing my book and trying a recipe or two. Or check back weekly for new posts and new recipes (I am always experimenting!). Have a favorite recipe of your own that you’d like to modify to work with your food sensitivities? Shoot me an email and I’ll be happy to help you transform it. I’m looking forward to helping you on your path!
